Interview ~ Uchuusentai NOIZ: May 22, 2009

Uchuusentai NOIZ returned to the US for an appearance and performance at Animazement 2009. We got to ask them a few questions the first day of the convention, right after they arrived on a rocket!
Please introduce yourself and what part you play.
Masato: Hyper Sonic Guitar, Masato.
Kotaro: Neo Eccentric Guitar, Kotaro.
Angel-Taka: Angel Voice, Angel-Taka.
Yamato: Machinegun Beat Grappler, Yamato.
Kyo: Super Vibrator, Kyo.
This isn't your first time in America. How does this time compare to the other times you've been here?
Angel-Taka: We haven't done the live [at the convention] yet, but I feel that all the people are very warm and welcoming.
Did you fly here on a plane, or do you have another way of travelling long distances?
Masato: We came with our private automobile!
Kyo: My rocket! Miracle Rocket!
What's so special about your rocket?
Angel-Taka: A rocket to make girls happy! (everyone laughs)
You guys have been together for almost ten years now. When you started out, did you ever think you'd be together so long, and that you would accomplish as much as you have?
Angel-Taka: Right now, I feel that being in a band is something I'd like to do for the rest of my life. It's the ten year mark, and we've had member changes, but I definitely want to be in active duty as part of a band for the rest of my life.
You've said before that you all met thanks to the Hero Resource Management company, but how did you learn about that company?
Angel-Taka: We found out about the Hero Resource Management company because of the job listings, the classifieds.
You are here to protect peace on Earth with your music, right? What sort of obstacles have you faced with this endeavor?
Masato: There have been parts in our life, we were put in situations several times in which we may not be able to continue with our music, but we didn't want to lose. As Angel said before, we wanted to continue. We felt as long as we were able to continue making music without bending our feelings, without stopping, until the world becomes peaceful and keep on going after the world becomes peaceful. Even though we said endeavor, we could say that we were saved by our own music.
Do you have any super powers?
Angel-Taka: Angel Love Beam! And I'm going to show you all tonight!
Are there any secrets to this beam?
Kyo I think that is something he should write about after he feels it tonight! He should write about what he felt and that should be good!
Angel-Taka: There might be some heart-moving thing going on! (everyone laughs)
Like doki-doki?
(everyone laughs)
What super power do you wish you had?
Angel-Taka: It's not saying that we want our music to sell...but I want the power to have those who listen to our music to have something left in their heart for them to remember.
Masato: I feel that having a power makes disputes happen, so I don't want any powers.
Kotaro: Guitar tapping and with sleep, I want to make people feel ecstasy.
Angel-Taka: Ecstasy technique! (everyone laughs)
Yamato: For real, I want a power to keep on drumming all day long!
Kyo: I just want the power to embrace a girl, and that's all the power I need!
Masato: What a romantic! (everyone laughs)
If you could be anyone else in the band, who would you be and why?
Kyo: None of them! (everyone laughs)
Yamato: I would like to be Angel-Taka, because from the start that I discovered NOIZ, he was someone I always admired and was chasing after. I want to be him.
Angel-Taka: I think I'm going to cry! As for me, I will do my best as Angel-Taka! (everyone laughs)
Kotaro: I want to become the person that all the members other than myself fused together become!
Masato: I would like to become Yamato, and study the feelings of admiring Angel-Taka! (everyone laughs)
Kyo: I would like to become Masato, and for Masato to become Yamato, for Yamato admiring Angel-Taka, and study again, again, and again to make sure of it! (everyone is laughing hard)
Imagine you're out shopping, and you run into yourselves! Who is the real NOIZ, and how do you know it's them?
Masato: Because there isn't any other genius than me!
Kyo: I'd know it was me if I was hugging a very cute girl!
Yamato: In the middle of the town, if I'm stepping the double bass drums really fast, then it's me!
Angel-Taka: If I was letting out the Angel-Love Beam!
Tell us a secret about the person next to you.
(everyone in the band laughs and repeats "himitsu," the Japanese word for secret)
Kyo: The girl that's in the Brand New World PV is Yamato's little sister!
Yamoto: Kotaro and I only have one layer of make-up foundation on our faces, but Angel-Taka has about thirty layers! It's the same as building a building! (everyone laughs)
Angel-Taka: The two members, Kotaro and Yamato, it was the first time they played. And Kotaro, right before we played, he was passed out!
Masato: He's only been sleeping the whole time!
Angel-Taka: He looks like this! (mimics Kotaro) He looks like this but he's very kind! And his stomach sticks out!
Kotaro: (about Masato) He's a total masochist!
Masato: (English) OK! (laughs)
Can you give a message to our readers?
Masato: At the moment, in the situation we are in, NOIZ isn't able to easily go overseas to America or other countries that often. But we definitely want to go all over the world and save as many people as we can, so please look forward to it.
Kotaro: From here and now, we're going to make big impacts in America, so please look forward to it!
Angel-Taka: I'm sure there's a lot of people waiting for us all over the world. We would like to work really hard all to spread our activity worldwide, so please look forward to it!
Yamato: I will become the world's fastest drummer!
Kyo: Regardless of what sex or race you are, you are all my very cute ones, so I would like to embrace all of you all over the world! (English) Love and peace!
